FOR GP'S

Choosing the right assessment

Section 5 of the M107A and M108A asks whether the patient needs specialist assessment. There are two options — and they go to different places.

OPTION 1

OT Driver Assessment

Assesses functional driving capacity through clinical and on-road testing. Report submitted to DoT.

→ Refer to ChelleCare

OPTION 2

DTMI On-Road Test

A DoT-administered practical driving test conducted by their own driving assessor.

→ Refer to DTMI

Not sure? Take a look at our Referrer Guide. If you have clinical concerns about how a condition affects driving performance, choose the OT assessment. If the patient is medically stable and you just need a practical skill check, the DTMI option may suit better. Call us on (08) 6383 7811 or DoT on 13 11 56 if you'd like to talk it through
