Home Assessments
Your home, Your needs
Creating safer, more accessible homes that support independence
Across the South-West, our OT Home Assessments we take a comprehensive look at how your home environment supports — or limits — your safety and independence.

Our assessments and recommendations are tailored to each person’s needs, goals, and living environment.
What We Assess

During a Home Assessment, we consider:
-
Mobility and access - entryways, steps, pathways, door widths, and room layout
-
Bathroom safety - Showers, toilets, grab rails, non-slip surfaces, and transfers
-
Kitchen access and usability - Bench heights, storage, appliances, and task set-up
-
Bedroom and living areas - Bed transfers, seating, lighting, and circulation space
-
Environmental risks - Trip hazards, lighting, flooring, and general safety concerns

How Home Assessments Help

By identifying practical barriers within the home, we can recommend tailored strategies, equipment, or modifications that improve safety, confidence and independence.
An OT home assessment may be beneficial for individuals who:
-
Have difficulty moving safely around their home
-
Are at risk of falls or injury
-
Experience fatigue, pain, or reduced strength impacting daily tasks
-
Are preparing to return home after hospitalisation, rehabilitation, or injury
-
Require environmental adjustments to support disability, chronic conditions, or ageing
-
Want to maintain independence in their own home for as long as possible
